The West Ham Walk: Claret and Blue Pack
For Spring / Summer we pay homage to The Boleyn Ground with the Admiral Claret & Blue Pack.
Coinciding with the anniversary of the final game at West Ham’s hallowed Boleyn Ground, played on the 10th May 2016, we celebrate the local area with the Claret & Blue pack.
The historic stadium, the former home of Hammers legends Bobby Moore, Trevor Brooking and Billy Bonds, was known as a central point for the East London areas of West & East Ham, unique in its nature for a stadium of the size to be in the middle of the community. Re-visiting the surrounding area 8 years later, we took on the hallowed match day walk from Upton Park station, down to the former site of the iconic stadium.
The non-descript locations the campaign takes place in are to any West Ham fan, fixtures in the community, points on the pilgrimage to the famous castled gates. From chippies to offies, the unassuming nature of the outlets hold a mythic value to match go-ers, and have surely heard ‘Forever Blowing Bubbles’ chants ring off their walls for the decades the stadium stood.
Nestled on the corner of Priory and Barking roads lies a tribute to Hammers legend Trevor Brooking. The 2-storey mural shows Brooking, donning the 1977-1980 Admiral made Home Kit, itself a confirmation of the iconic standing of Admiral kits throughout the 70’s and 80’s.
The collection itself takes the core colours of The Irons, applying the Claret & Blue across signature Track Jackets, T-Shirts and Chenille embroidered sweatshirts. Classic in nature, we continue to take inspiration from our robust archive, whilst ensuring the gear is fit for the contemporary consumer.
