Burton Albion x Admiral Third Shirt: Brewed In Burton

For generations, brewing has been at the heart of Burton-upon-Trent, shaping the town's identity and leaving its mark on the communities that call it home. That heritage is now celebrated in Burton Albion's new third shirt, designed by Admiral.
Drawing inspiration from the distinctive wallpaper found across Burton's historic pubs, the shirt brings a familiar piece of the town's character, into a modern football design through a tonal jacquard damask pattern. A cream base is paired with navy detailing, while the Staffordshire Knot features on the collar and cuffs, referencing the local identity of Burton and Staffordshire.

To bring the story behind the shirt to life, Admiral visited one of Burton's oldest tap houses, dating back to 1680, for a campaign that celebrates the close relationship between the town, its heritage and its football club.
Dan Levins Head of Retail Burton Albion FC:
"We wanted our third shirt to have a genuine connection to Burton, something that tells a story beyond football. The Damask pattern gives it a distinctive character that you don't see in football kits. Shooting at the Burton Bridge Inn was the perfect finishing touch as it gave the whole campaign an authenticity that you can't manufacture. It's a shirt with real depth when you look closely, but it's also just a great shirt to wear. We think supporters are going to love it.”

This campaign takes you inside the brewing process, the steam, the copper vats, the unhurried craft that has defined this town for centuries. From the brewery to the pub, it traces the journey of a shirt rooted in Burton's identity, made by the oldest sportswear brand.
Theo Hamburger Head of Sales and Marketing Admiral Sports:
“The oldest tap house in Burton was the perfect setting for us. It gave the campaign a genuine connection to the town's history, while Admiral's own heritage as the world's oldest sportswear brand, made that connection feel even more natural. For us, heritage isn't about looking backwards, instead it's about taking what has stood the test of time and bringing that into the modern day. That's ultimately what we wanted this shirt and campaign to represent.”

With its historic references and timeless design, the third kit is yet another example of how blending heritage with modern aesthetics can create something that feels both authentic to the club and relevant to a new generation of supporters.
