Admiral & Almost Home Launch 'The Man In The Arena' Collection
The Almost Home x Admiral 'The Man In The Arena' collaboration draws inspiration from Admiral’s iconic Coventry City kits from the 1970s, particularly the sky blue home kit and the controversial brown away kit. Known for its bold designs, Admiral received both acclaim and criticism for these kits, which have remained memorable in football history. Almost Home sought to honour Admiral’s innovative spirit by incorporating the iconic brown hues into the new collection.
Founded in 2019 by model Diego Barrueco and designer Luke Murphy, Almost Home is a London based clothing brand inspired by London’s vibrant yet fast-paced lifestyle. The brand quickly gained popularity, collaborating with high-profile companies like Malin + Goetz and StockX. Almost Home has attracted a notable following, with celebrities such as Rio Ferdinand and Owen Farrell endorsing the brand by wearing their signature pieces on television. Rooted in Luke and Diego's shared experiences of London, Almost Home reflects their “love-hate” relationship with the city and their appreciation for the tranquility of home—Dublin for Luke and Madrid for Diego. Almost Home emphasises quality over fast fashion, creating essentials like white t-shirts and signature seasonal pieces. Their ethos, “Buy good things and own them a long time,” underscores their commitment to durability and timeless style.
The name of the collaboration, “The Man in the Arena” takes its inspiration from the famous Theodore Roosevelt speech of the same name (recently shared by Jude Bellingham on his Instagram following England’s defeat at Euro 2024). Almost Home chose this name to honour Admiral’s pioneering spirit when designing the famous Coventry City kits of the 1970s.
The collaborative line features tracksuits, shorts, jackets, pullovers, and knitted cotton polos, blending classic football aesthetics with modern style. This collection is available through both the Almost Home and Admiral websites, representing a fusion of historic British sportswear and contemporary fashion inspired by London’s dynamic culture.
